I came close last year. I only have six traps but I caught 4 coyotes. Add in the two fox I caught and that equals one catch for each trap.
I didn't catch one at every set, though. I had to move the traps around during the season.

yes there is but that involves leaving traps in for a lengthy time at least for me I've done it many times over the years mainly due to lack of fur prices, work time constraints lousey weather running a short manageable line is not a bad idea and it doesn't have to be a landline one year dec. was perfect even temps snow and water levels by driving both ways around the section I live on I cross 4 culverts set 220s in each caught 2 mink 4 rats and 1 coon that month not astounding but I checked to and from church and probably my most productive line ever per sets made

Are you asking "working a dozen sets for the season" or catching 2 animals in a trap? Working a dozen sets throughout the year, and catching 13 or more canines.

Three years ago I had four traps (two double dirt hole sets) on one farm and caught 23 red fox. On another farm that year I had four traps (four dirt holes withing twenty feet of each other) and caught nineteen.
We have a huge red fox population.
Eh...wot?

I've noticed some strange locations that just catch coyotes over and over, while other traps nearby catch nothing. One season I had 30 traps set but 2 traps caught 6 each. I did not switch out traps, just reset them. Those two traps were worn shiny. None of the other traps caught anywhere near that many, and about half caught none. If I had not bothered setting those other 15 traps I would have fared just as well.
The previous season, at a location 5 miles from the first, one set caught something nearly every check for weeks. Coyotes, bobcats, coons, possums, mink, foxes. 20 feet on either side of that set--NOTHING.
It tells me you can get a high catch rate by very carefully choosing your set locations. But that takes time for me to really study the sign, trails, under favorable conditions etc. Probably takes more time for me to do that than lay down more steel that will cover the territory available, but half never catch anything.
