Here it is. The thread to post your pictures of your catches this season

As in the past 2 seasons I'm starting out with a raccoon in one of my canine sets

Usually the first few coons in my canine sets are big boars. But this was a fat sow

Ok LETS SEE YOUR CATCHES AS THEY COME !!

I couldn't take it any longer and set the bottom side of a bridge with a couple DPs. The ponds were starting to freeze over and it just felt like trapping weather. Now it's warmed back up in to the 50s. They're obviously early, but I'll still put them up. Bowhunters wanted these thinned out anyways due to all the corn they've been eating from feeders. First week of November I plan on going all out, till then I've scratched the itch.

Here is what the leather looked like after skinning them out. This was just after fleshing, they turned blue throughout the next morning. When I set these traps the water next to where they were trapped had about a quarter inch of ice on it.

Sorry guys, Temp has little to do with the priming of fur. The pituitary gland, governed by the amount of daylight, triggers the blood flow toward and then away from the hide causing a winter coat to mature. Pray for dark, dreary, lots of cloudy weather if you want a prime coon before the normal date in your area. Have seen a few Octobers like that and the fur bearers can be ready to take 7-10 days before you normally would, but if you have an itch it is hard to not scratch it so I can relate.... the mike

First yote of the year, this morning

Son wanted to check the traps out behind the house this morning before he went to school, called me as he was walking in the dark and said there was one barking

I put my boots on and headed out back, only about 200-250 yards from our back door. This fella had been showing up on camera about every 2-3 days Trap was about 30 yards from where he had been walking and triggering camera Sets were put in Monday afternoon

Fur not thick or even ready for this market But I have a market for it when tanned with feet on so I'll make $

I'd post a bunch of pictures on this forum also, but I have the exact same problem. I crop and resize, and it still says the file is too large. mad

Screenshots do work well for this.

Click on Properties to see how big your pic is. Then Open with Paint and resize so they are no larger than 2.09 MB and you should not have a problem posting them. Cropping may work but sometimes the file will still be too large. Just make sure you save then after you resize them to 2 MB or less.
