Here it is. The thread to post your pictures of your catches this season As in the past 2 seasons I'm starting out with a raccoon in one of my canine sets Usually the first few coons in my canine sets are big boars. But this was a fat sow Ok LETS SEE YOUR CATCHES AS THEY COME !!

First yote of the year, this morning Son wanted to check the traps out behind the house this morning before he went to school, called me as he was walking in the dark and said there was one barking I put my boots on and headed out back, only about 200-250 yards from our back door. This fella had been showing up on camera about every 2-3 days Trap was about 30 yards from where he had been walking and triggering camera Sets were put in Monday afternoon Fur not thick or even ready for this market But I have a market for it when tanned with feet on so I'll make $

MT where are the grinners? Lol Did you catch them all last year? Most. Over 70 I did get 6 new properties to set this year that are going to need some grinner thinning though

Can't seem to get pictures to load. Have never had a problem before. I have cropped and still says to big. I am doing same.as.always. any ideas?

Click on Properties to see how big your pic is. Then Open with Paint and resize so they are no larger than 2.09 MB and you should not have a problem posting them. Cropping may work but sometimes the file will still be too large. Just make sure you save then after you resize them to 2 MB or less.

I posted in another thread about forgetting to test a bait. This is the results. Test bait on each end,skunk pod in the middle. I think the bait works. And yes they are still running. I will catch them again later when they are prime

Still slow here Did put 12 sets in on a new property today. Will see if that produces Hopefully not a bunch of opossum, so far no opossum this season

29 years this year. Here’s a picture of one of our days catch. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was a ten year old tagging along with Dad on the Trapline. I’m a lucky guy to have the Instruction I’ve had. Here’s to many more day catches like this with the best trapping partner a guy could ask for. Cherish the times you have with your dad and teacher! It's great to see a father and son trapping together.

late bite you should get that framed agreed. I like that shot. I have a few framed with my youngest and the first Bobcat we caught together. anywhoo..... This guy cleaned out this set the other day. Reset, rebaited and moved the trap slightly. I suspect him of pulling pan covers off of other sets along the road way that lead to this spot over the last week or so.

What size double long spring is that? is that a short or long-tail weasel? It's a #2 I had set with a hair trigger for some mink running along the side of a culvert. I think it's a long tail, his tail is 6-7" long. The other weasels I've been catching have 3-4" tails.

WoodL. Had the same thing happen this morning. Have had a fox showing up on camera every 3 days. Set for it and got a opossum. There was never a opossum on that trail cam.

you set on sign, have this on camera: catch this: Must have been jumping on the pan, both back feet...... A buddy of mine caught a possum in a #3 bridger that had 3 feet in the trap. No telling what it was doing to make the trap fire.

The fur is looking good now
This big boy is from one of my new properties, opossums didn't find this set as it was 45 yards out in to the hayfield

Most of my catches so far this season are coming from north-central NV, about 150 miles east of Reno. I was born in Elko and lived in Winnemucca where my family is from but I've spent most of my life in Reno. I live on Peavine mountain right below those towers on top and only trap within a mile of my place.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

Okay, I'm not far from you. I live in NW Reno.. I'm retired now, and was laid up the past three seasons for medical reasons. This year, I decided to give it a try, and so far if I push my back to it's limits while taking it easy, it seems to be working and I'm making a decent catch. It's kind of bittersweet though, there's a lot of nice looking places I just can't get to and I'm forced to remember a time before my back gave in on me. But no matter, beats sitting and puttering around the homestead.

First fox in 35 years, lol. Came on a cat remake I caught on a compass set. Remade into a pipe dream set, just dug up a clump of broomsedge for backing.

Thanks TaxiMan. 3,000' on the white vs 2,000' on the browns. Apparently that's all it takes to affect the duration of snow cover.
5 weeks ago I got a double (photos on the weasel thread) on LT's @ 1,500' they were both brown. Then I had to pull traps for awhile and got the lines back out mid-December @ 3,000' but I was too late cause the white one is beginning to discolor already (not readily visible in the photo), so I dropped back down to 2,000' and got those browns about only 2 miles away from each other. The window of opportunity for the white phase is so short just a few weeks. The brown phase is much longer; from about late Nov until late Jan/early Feb here.
Any leasts (Mustela nivalis) there yet? Joe,My truck and I have been out of commission for a bit so I haven't done much but run a short cat line.Maybe in a couple weeks.I haven't seen many weasel tracks of any kind,so far though.

My 8 yr old daughter snared her 1st two mink today. She punded in 80% of the stake, set the loop, and hooked it into the poly support. Then after some guidance she set the loop size and height.
