With the sway in the bell, I think he is past his prime. Older buck for sure.

pouch, back dip, neck, stumpy legs, neck line to brisket, palmation - this all screams 5.5 plus to me. Definitely not young.

We have had a Y buck running around for 6 years now. No one can shoot him other than a kid here due to laws. Our bucks have increasingly gotten smaller I assume because of genetics. Pretty sure we have another 2 or 3 year old Y buck running around too. I'd shoot him even though there's bigger bucks in the area. You don't want bad genetics and smaller bucks as an effect.

Hobbie I agree as above, for what it’s worth, that looks like a very mature bodied deer.

I'm at that point where every deer I see the phrase "will be nice in a few years" is my first thought! LOL

With the sway in the bell, I think he is past his prime. Older buck for sure. Agreed. I killed one a 4 point in WV that looked like that, thinking I had a younger deer. He teeth were worn down almost to his gum line.

It's a sad day. Apparently I have reached an age where I cannot be in the woods at dusk without supervision. The deer where starting to move when my daughter comes like a search party calling my name and waving a flashlight because I didn't respond to numerous text messages. I suppose its good that somebody gives a crap about you. lol True. lol
