Yup Mike these were the only setups I could make on the 5 miles of my river line this year with all the high water. I do believe the several storms and the flooding did a number on a lot of those rats. One trapper near me typically traps about 3 miles of the same river and this year got into about 1/3rd of that and found 3 rats! I am finding several of the smaller areas typically dry that have a house or two now as that is where the rats went during the floods. Not able to get permission on several of those. Got into one today that has some potential. Made about 17 sets will watch this for a few checks.

had a late day today set at the big marsh and didnt even get to check all my sets there and at 2 other marshes set back out my coon line in the dark for the 3rd time this season haha they were moving i ran one up a tree and hit another haha just counted up my rats and im at 999 right now if i would have checked just a few more sets haha

well i broke 1000 was lucky enough to catch the one more i needed shockingly haha ended up with 44 for the day 1 fox and 2 coon had a buddy along to so it was fun glad he got to see a fox wanted to learn more about how i cable anyhow that puts at 1043 hope i can get a few more need to find some new marshes and set more and more and more!!! haha

It's been an extremely slow season for me. I'm more of a hobby trapper, and have wasted too much time chasing deer this year. Still working on my cat and fisher tags, but filled my otter tag yesterday. I enjoy seeing all the catch pictures! Good luck the rest of the year!

well today was a not so great day...didnt check any off my smaller marshes in hope of doing some prospecting for new areas so i checked my land line and went to the biggest marsh i have set got it a little less than half checked and fell though!! haha didnt hit bottom but was able to pull myself out so that ended the day there went home ended up with 11 rats and 2 coon

That one coon is a fattie. I sort of tired of fattie coons. All that fat doesn't necessarily add that many more inches...

29 rats 4 coon and a fox was a good day managed to stay on top of the ice haha

nonpcfed-- ive said it a few other times but this is only my 5th season so every year has been better than the last thankfully haha for rats its been

112- first year all baited 110s under the ice

250- first time open water trapping

350- 2 weeks before freeze up at the good marsh

1710- last year

1083- so far this year

i hope i can beat last year but we will see this under ice isnt so bad now that i figured it out a bit lot of season left i guess
