My buddy who's a taxidermist had a guy give him this coyote. It has super long hair which is even more impressive in person. Has anyone ever seen one like this, never seen one like it here in PA. How do you think this would grade/be valued on the fur market?

Should have let him live, those genetics would have helped your local yote population! grin

To answer your question, yes. That happens at random, you can catch one out of (fill in the blank here...a hundred, a thousand) anywhere there are coyotes!

My thought is, if was in the population, so are it's genes. Unless it was dropped by someone, it has parents thus the genes are there

What made that yote was the perfect alignment of the stars! Yes, the genes that made him are out there, but His genes didn't make it. Now if you took him and a female with good genes, you'd have some reproduction of like coyotes, but Not the hodge podge of genes that came together to produce him! Life is a crap shoot!

Our yotes here in ne Ks here are crap too. I have caught one a year, give or take out of hundred and fifty that are special. Kinda helps keep you going when you on a roll of catchin lice infested or mangy yotes! Wish I could increase those percentages, but I have to travel to do it!

99% of the yotes here are ugly as soap. I might get one a year that is really nice. Considering anyway.

I have kept track of one really nice big male near my place all summer. The lightest colored one I have ever seen anywhere near here. Long hair and big. I have an idea where I may get a chance at him trapping, and a cpl. of spots I will try to call him in.

I think more about that yote than I do any deer I have ever went after.
