I have an OLD pair of Carhartt bib overalls that I use only at work for plowing/shoveling snow, salting, etc. They are so old they have faded from the Carhartt Brown to almost white. Super soft and wicks up water like a sponge. Anyone have a waterproofing spray that has worked well for you?

If the spray doesn't work and as a last resort, you could try waxing them. Filson makes a wax for its Tin Cloth clothing that works pretty good. You could just wax the lower part of your bibs.

Adding too much fabric softener will make them repel water to a certain extent.

Rustoleom makes a spray called “Never Wet”. Works pretty good.

Sold @ Menards or Ace Hardware stores. I use it all the time. Works great.
