you should look at the Quadrafire stoves.

I have a Quadrafire 3100 step top my house about 1500sqft , not overly well insulated 1909 construction, walls and attic are blown in insulation the windows are original with aluminum storm windows.

I burn about 3 cord a year I let the fire go out in the middle of the night final fill about 10-11 and start it again about 6 after cleaning out the ash.

It looks like you've had an outside air intake installed, excellent decision.

Very nice work! Worthy of a nice stove.

Now seeing the location, the size and shape would be very important so it would look nice when finished. I would like to see whatever you get when all put together.

I am very interested because of a building project we are planning.

Best wishes.

mine has the legs
I bought it as a floor modle used in 2007

I have 3 cases of fire brick coming Friday for a full fire brick replacement 32 dollars a case ordered from my local hardware store

I don't know how long it was a floor model but I had a few in bad shape.

I generally burn 12+ hours a day Dec- March.

every hundred gallons of fuel oil I don't use saves me 300 dollars at the current price

trying to keep under 200 gallons this year.

spray foam makes a house very air tight , outside air is a good call it will draft better and heat better because you won't be drawing outside air in through door seals and such. it also shouldn't dry your house out as much.

matt your wood stove guy is top notch!I've seen gas water heaters not burn correctly in spray foam houses. Although I bet you will have windows open once it get a good bed of coals in that stove!

the glass was dirty , I used to clean it regular now I just add wood and enjoy the heat

the 3 has 3 inch clearance form a combustible wall on the back mine is actually 8 out from the wall , and 8 inch clearence to the sides I have a lot more than that bit the stool is 8 inches away

they wanted big money for the blower for it I decided I could try with just a fan the first year it worked well enough I have been since

I did get one of those switches for the Christmas tree you can step on to turn on/off , that is handy to easily turn on and off the fan.
