I am having a hard time finding parsnips for baited muskrat sets. I am pondering using pieces of Daikon radish. It is a tough, white root crop which will hold up well.

I have used carrots successfully in the past as well.

Anyone tried it?

No but I’d bet it would work just fine. I’ve been stuck on carrots because you can get a lot of them cheap.

Go out and cut some popular then cut It In too 12" pieces. You can either zip tie It to your stake or better yet drill some holes and wire It on. I use to use zip ties but the rats chewed off the ties.
No reason to use a 8' popular pole when 12" will do the trick.

Green Bay- I found parsnips at Pick N Save last year, didn’t really notice a catch difference between carrots or parsnips.
