Has anyone else had a problem with the switch over to capital one. My first billing statement from them has been lost and they said they will not send another till the 26th. The fellow I talked to said my payment will probably be late if I wait for them to send a new one and pay by check. I told him these are not my problems and he did not seem to agree.

I'm thinking of getting a new card somewhere else. Any great credit card suggestions.

Help yourself.

How close is your Cabelas from you? Just go to it and hand them the check. Even if it’s an hour or two away would be worth it to me, to avoid them late payment fees.

Yes, I kissed them goodbye long ago, even before the switch. They were nothing but a pita!

i have about 8 cards.....i use chase visa freedom unlimited the most because i got 150 sign on bonus and a straight 1.5 cashback. When 5 %cashback i use chase unlimited on gas. I play the points big. I have capitol one for business cards but chase has been great to me..i never pay interest and charge 500-700 monthly because i spend that easily so i collect money for it. I buy traps.i get money back

I was going to make a payment online last week and when Capital One showed up instead they wanted information like my social security number to make sure it was me but I didn’t give it I just sent the payment in even if it was going to be late I didn’t trust giving my number online.

Did away with Cabela’s about 11 years ago, and have never missed them. They sold everybody’s cards back then also, then started a whole new program under their own bank. Everybody lost their points, and they turned everybody’s card into a WalMart card. Yes...I had a card that said Cabela’s on it, had a picture of Cabela’s store on it, and along with them taking my $100 worth of points away, they told me now it would earn points to spend at WalMart. They did offer to sell me ANOTHER card under “The World’s Foremost Bank” but didn’t offer to give my $100 worth of points back that they took. I cut my card up at the customer service counter, and I’ve never been back, and I will take every opportunity I am given to tell everybody else what kind of crooks they are also. It’s pretty sad, a company as big as they are thinks little enough about their customers to even do something like that and think it is right. I considered going back when bass pro acquired them, but it sounds to me like I’m not missing anything.

I had issues as well with them, told them to chuck it. Went to the Chase Saphire Visa, hopefully they will be better.

I must be the only person on the planet to never have a problem with them. Been using them for at least 10 years. They haven't switched me over yet - maybe my luck is about to run out.

Jarrett I was thinking that I couldn't go to the store because it's not a Cabelas card anymore. I am not sure though. I will ask when I call again today, trying to get someone a little more understanding.

Grayfox, I did the same thing as you. I didn't log in for many reasons, one of which was there 20,000 word user agreement.

I'm looking into other cards for sure.

Help yourself.

Same. My bass pro card turned into a cash back card after the switch. Guess which one I use more now?

I've been a card member since 08 with absolutely 0 problems. No interest, no late fees, and thousands of dollars in points! If you play the game and place your orders on the 10% off day they offer frequently, figure in your points, and get free shipping their prices are pretty reasonable, and often times unbeatable.

Besides, it is so much fun to go into the store and leave with a new weapon without it costing you any money! (Although, it is a little frustrating dealing with their firearms prices and the guy behind the counter that usually seems to think he knows more about what you want than you do)

I was a little skeptical about the switch to MasterCard, but I've had no problems thus far and until I do I will continue to love my cabelas card

Has you received your new card yet. I haven’t. Going from visa to MC.

Cabelas screwed enough people when they sold out all their employees in Nebraska. Don't need anything they have.

Wish we had a Cabelas or a Fleet Farm store here in Northern Wisconsin!
