Bought some victor #2 sq jaws want to use them on coyotes. What do I need to do to bend the end of the jaws up. I tryes Channel locks but my punny arms couldn't do it. Also would you move the chain location to the frame that is opposite the dog or leave it at the jaw end of the frame. I have laso read that these suck for coyotes but making due with what I have and at 3 bucks a piece and most are brand new with little surface rust.it was hard to pass up.

Do you have access to a welder?

Gonna need a welder to make these functional coyote traps.

Try Vise Grips instead of channel locks, for starters
If that won't work, you'll have to bubble the jaw tips with a welder.
If you'll baseplate them, it'll center the swivel.

I had a Victor #2 squared jaw trap destroyed by a coyote. After that I had them base-plated with a center D-ring, four-coiled them and placed a bead of weld on each end of the jaws. Also added a in-line spring on the chain. Only tried a couple, never caught a coyote in them. I did managed one red fox. Never use them now since I picked up a few MB-550's.

Let's go Brandon!

I use a 7/32nds socket. It fits perfect on a no. 3 Monty.
