THE WORLD'S foremost outfitter is gone. Cancelled backorders, not honoring lifetime warranty, bargain cave not what it used to be, and card mishaps. Major bank credits cards that pay cash back are better if you watch and don't pay interest example Bank of American. Cabela's and Bass Pro are off my radar. Many other options..

Had two new credit cards come in the mail, thought they were our new Cabelas cards, so I cut up the old ones. Only problem was it was a card I hardly ever use that came in the mail, I cut up that one last year, and now the Cabelas card I did use is cut up. So I will just use the gas card as the credit card for the near future.

There pay by phone is definitely messed up. My payment didn't go thru. After a couple of phone calls got it all straightened out. Late fee was waived as well. They will need time to work out the kinks

I have had great luck with my Cabela’s card. Playing the game has added up to thousands of dollars in gear/guns. I buy all my gas, groceries, etc on the Cabela’s card then pay one bill at the end of the month. As others have said 10% off day + free shipping + club points = some really good buys. It is painful buying firearms but that is due to the staff in the store. My last firearm buying experience was terrible. I had a handgun shipped to the store. I asked to inspect it before transfer and the sales guy would not let me touch it and continued with the paperwork. I had to get a manager involved before it was over with.

I am sceptical about the transfer to Capital One.

My statement arrived today, a week later than usual but we have 5 more days till the payment is due.

Any difference between a visa than a master card.

Help yourself.

They wouldn't give me a card. I never understood it because my credit score is almost as high as it can get.

Same here. It took me all of about 5 minutes to switch over to Capital one. As soon as I can figure out what to buy with my points I will cancel my account though. Will look for something with frequent flyer miles points since me and wifey will be traveling when I retrire and have a system in place to use a cc to the max while keeping a zero balance.

I see the Cabelas brand better stuff going by the way side. IMO I always felt that Bass Pro was more of a southern type hunting store and Cabelas was the northern tier type of gear. Just my .02. I will be looking at new options in the future.I heard from a Field & Stream mgr that knows Johnny Morris is that he wanted the CC business and that there will never be a new Cabelas store built. The one near me was axed.

Yes,Ive been a holder since 06. I pay my balance in full every month by phone. This month (oct 8th) was no exception but had to go through a few more steps as they switched over. About a week later my card was denied. They claimed it was denied for nonpaynent. 45 minutes later I was told the card would be reactivated the next day and I would receive my next statement in December.
