Debates here, especially politically related ones, almost always devolve into name-calling and demeaning language, as the people who can't debate feel they're being overwhelmed.
Then the thread gets deleted. Basically, if you want a thread deleted here, just start the name-calling.
Jim ...says the master of having threads axed...

You want to have a one sided debate go visit Lynx's site, if you counter one of them guys, you just as well leave, name calling slander, lawyer threats, etc, they seem to relish the attempt to be beaten down LOL
Debates about religion or politics never is a good thing here,, never has been even with James trying to be a one sided monitor, finally just had to shut it down.
Bad enough when just a life debate comes up on here, let alone one of the others, in fact just debating a trap can lead one to think about taking one's life !!
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

How many threads have you got deleted James? Zero, so far as I know. I don't stoop to name-calling. It's the replies to my posts, by people who can't address my points in a civil manner, who get threads deleted. Jim

What is it I do that you claim causes threads to get deleted? Have an opinion that's different from yours? You can't read something you disagree with, without freaking out?
Post an opinion that varies from the political correctness some posters try to enforce here, and you get blamed for deleting a thread.

my favorite debates are the ones when Canadians say the leg hold trapping is inhumane and there are better alternatives and Americans trappers tell us to go whine to the Queen its too much work to haul extra traps around. I don't think those ever end in name calling as both sides have valid points. But those usually go 10 pages or so. Have not seen one in a while though.
I found an old Jonny Thorpe beaver trapping dvd and he has a beaver leg hold set I really want to try. Maybe I will try it and debate how good it works and take the American side for once. I like those debates too, muskrat. But I don't recall the "American" position ever hanging on a lack of stamina for hauling around extra traps. We just drive to all our sets, never having to get out of the truck. Y'all need to build more roads and get off those stinken skis. It's you Canucks who always complain about the unfair advantage we Americans have because we don't have to provide pillows, milk and cookies at each set. By the way, I don't think I've ever seen Trump cry on camera. I so hope Boco finds this thread...

You didn't make me uncomfortable, and no apology is required or expected.
But no one likes to be blamed for something that's not their fault. Most of the threads that get deleted are political, and so violate Paul's rules from the get-go. I don't initiate political threads, although I am guilty of patronizing them.
The only other threads that get deleted, in my observations, are those where people become uncivil to each other. I always try to be civil and respectful in these debates. If not, I hope someone calls me on it; and then I will be the one to apologize.

One of my pet peeves is you guys that continue to call it "leg hold" when it is "foot hold", but carry on, I'm not out to change anyone, lol.
