SS isn't broken. It supports million of American seniors.
Odds are someone you're related to relies on SS.
Jim Actually we are a big family and each working member pays monthly to support the eldest that would be using SS. Years of being told of SS's failing had the rest investing in retirement plans and or pensions believing SS would have been long gone by now.

Good luck getting your agenda through Congress. If word gets out that the GOP are planning to cut SS, they can say goodbye to the House and Senate.
So I suspect they'll keep their plans secret until after the election.

I have several relatives that are seniors on social security.
it should have stayed for seniors who paid into the system only.
congress should have never been able to steal from it.
it does help a lot of seniors , the issue is that congress stole from it with very little difference from organized crime stealing form Union pension funds they should be in the same prison.
A state run pension fund that is for people who paid in to have a retirement and leave the work force at 62 or 65 isn't the issue it is all the other things they awarded the "benefit" to that shouldn't have come from that fund.
