Mother Nature's way seems to work well.

i saw a black squirrel chasing a grey in the woods this evening and did nothing.felt good.

I saw just the opposite in Warren county last week. A grey chase a black up and and around a big chestnut oak, then off throuh the woods. I thught to myself, "Jesse Jackson would have something to say that."

Grey fox or grey squirrel? Would that be a gray squirrel?

They are both symptoms of the same ponzi scheme!

From the way it appears.........either we continue.......accelerate even...the Socialism agenda or a bunch of folks are going to starve to death. Please don't feed the bears! They will become dependent on being fed. (Are there homeless people in Yellowstone Park?)

Because the government knows what's best for you. Or, at least they think they do. If they didn't force people to contribute to SS, they know many people would opt out. This would reduce the money available to those in need. I agree with you on the irresponsible, but not on those who are legitimately poor. Here's what I perceive as the biggest problem with SS:

The biggest problem with SS is misappropriation of funds by the government. Originally, SS was designed to do two things. Pay benefits to a worker if they were disabled. Or, provide retirement income to a worker who lives to retirement.

If they had followed the original intent, SS would be a much better program than it is now. But, thanks to the government, they kept finding ways to add addendums that found other ways to spend SS income. If lawmakers were good stewards of our money, they could have found safe ways to invest our SS money instead of looking for more ways to spend it.

I agree. I'm more competent than the government. Actually, most people are.

Income money burns a hole in their pocket. They can't resist spending it. So many of them seem to have their little pet programs that they've either been lobbied for or it's something personal.

An example: In MN when the lottery started the income from it was to go for the environment. About 3 years later I asked a legislator who was on a board with me, how much money has gone to the environment so far from the lottery sales? His answer was, "I'm ashamed to admit it, but none. So many legislators saw all this money coming in. They couldn't keep their hands off it and it was spent for all their little pet projects."

I believe the same thing has happened with SS over the years.
