Does anyone have experience with these? Used one for sale local to me. This comes up mulitiple times a year but what is a good outdoor boiler to look for. I would like 1 that has shaker grates.

Back when Sotz was selling barrel kits they did not favor the grates they said is wasted more wood VS sitting in the ash and burning from the top more then all around at the same time. Just thought about that when I read the post.

My sister has had a Taylor for years just a few minor electrical things that I was able to fix. I've got a Mahoning, I actually burnt out the fire box burning to much coal and leaving too much ash in the firebox. I think that I was actually coking the coal. Anyways it lasted us 10 years, I just had it rebuilt. I'm not gonna burn so much coal anymore.

I have had a Hardy now going on 11 years, it doesn't have shaker grates but I do not really need them either. It is extremely easy to clean and the maintenance on it is easy too. In the past 11 years I have only had to replace 1 grate and the blower.
