Took my son squirrel hunting yesterday. We each got 3 each, that being his first squirrel. Took them all but 1 with this .22. He got one with a .410, but preferred the .22. He absolutely didn't want to go at first. Told his mom we never see anything. Took him to a new place with plenty of hickories. When he shot the first one out, it was all said and done. I couldn't slow him down after that. Really proud of him.

i'm 50 and could take you straight to the tree i was sitting against with dad when i was 10 and closed my eyes and squeezed the trigger on the old winchester single shot,somehow hitting the target and starting a 40 yr adventure i wouldn't trade for any amount of money.

Congrats to you both! Squirrel hunting is a great way to introduce youngsters to hunting. I remember carrying my son in my trapping pack basket to the squirrel timber. At his age, he could stand in the bottom and see out. We would sit where I knew we would see squirrels but it never mattered if we got any. Great memories.
