You fellows have to realize this is a swamp donkey, and a TEXAS deer...
Our deer will never be as big as those northern whitetail...
First off we don't have the agriculture feed like you do...
Second if your deer were down here, they wouldn't make it through the summer, like ours wouldn't make it through your winter, mostly because of body size... those big deer couldn't take the heat, just like a fat boy can't take the heat, unless they are raised in it...
Your deer need the big body size to survive the cold...
Good Luck and God Bless you and yours,

Even sheep are smart enough to shade up when it gets over 100....

Not much on antlers... What does he weigh? Is he over 200lbs? I've killed quite a few nice bucks, but never one that would even get close to 200 lbs... they don't grow that big down here, they could not survive the summer and heat...

I remember reading deer hunting magazine 40 years ago, article was about transplanting Wisconsin white tail down to texas Great deer old dude!! Lol They did bring some down here, but for the most part they were young deer... Not old mature deer that would have a hard time getting use to the weather change... Then those deer went in a pen, and were fed every bite they got for the rest of their life...
