Had a four-point hanging around for thirty minutes. His buddy, a nice six-point that I've seen with him several times, never showed up.

Maybe tonight.

Eh...wot?

I'm waiting this one out too. Tired of getting rained on. I'll be out by mid morning and sit until through any midday movement. Not sure about this afternoon since wind is supposed to be gusting. Last night it spread my scent all over the hill.

. You know, the key to avoiding that delimna is to not drag the buck all the way to your truck. Leave it hidden in the woods until you can come back with help. That or use the rope and come along, that should be in your truck at all times anyway.

Wife almost got a nice 8 last night.... With her car. I think she was bound and determined to get it too. She went off the shoulder after it. I asked her if she was trying for it. She said I didn't know where it was going. I said It was 20 feet up the bank trying to get away from the crazy lady.

Young bucks are chasing.Killed a small 7pt that was chasing two does.He took a break from chasing to freshen a primary scrape within range, that was a fatal error.

I've drug some deer into ditches, covered them with leaves and gone for help. Anymore I put a couple of 2 x 10 planks in my truck to assist with loading.

There's been a second in-season stocking by now. Hopefully some will be left by late season and hopefully I get up to hunt some.

Dog is doing okay after his porky encounter.

Eh...wot?

Well 4+ hours this morning and wet clothes are the only thing I have for it. Not sure where I'll go tonight. Like to hunt the flats too but too deep to cross to get to the field. And it's not great for a vertical bow stand. Nothing to draw behind and easily picked out if standing.

Picked the wrong stand tonight. I have two about 100 yards apart on the edge of an abandoned hay field that's getting pretty overgrown. Both overlook intersecting trails and scrapes. Last night the four-point walked broadside twenty yards in front of the first stand. Haven't seen the big six-point since moving the second stand and have sat there the last four times out.

Tonight I figured I sit in the first stand for a change up. About fifteen minutes before quitting time the big six came trotting down the far side of the field, cut across to my side and tended the scrape twenty yards in front of stand two (where I wasn't). I grunted at him (shouldn't have because he was down wind) and he started towards me. He only went a few steps when he stuck his nose in the air and began some serious sniffing. I knew I'd get busted and sure enough, a few seconds later he bolted back across the field and into the woods on the far side.

I'll be back next weekend....hope he will be.

Eh...wot?
