I went scouting today I found 2 dead coyotes both by water miles apart from each other neither one was close to were they could have been shot as I am the only one allowed on property. Both had fair fur and no wounds that I could tell.
I have seen coon do this before but not coyotes any Ideas.

Distemper perhaps? Any eye discharge or abnormally dry feet or nose?

Both were at the water edge and had been there a while. I believe that both were young coyotes from the size.

This is usually the time of year distemper shows up here and almost always its the the first year animals that are the victims.

I wish it would hit here and thin them out. LOL Not a nice thing to say but the coyotes are so thick here it is unreal. I was out tonight hunting and at sunset the howling comes from every direction from close to far. No way to thin them out trapping way to many miles and acres to cover here.

snowy, What are they bothering or hurting? I never under stood why people just want something dead. I enjoy hearing coyotes from the house.

I found twin fawn remains today that I am sure were coyote kills. I have also lost about a dozen hens in the last couple of years I know were killed by coyotes. When there are to many they can do a lot of damage.

Well give up the town and I will head out and do some hunting in the area. Made it to MT last year and had a blast. Killed 16 on our trip, but didn't get into the until the last two days.
