I'm thinking about buying some Ram's for adc beaver trapping. Does any one have any experience with them? All comments or suggestions would be welcome. Thank you.

I've never used them on beaver but I think most of us who have used them for anything would agree.................get a steel cup and some sort of mouth guard.

White, that paints a pretty clear picture of the dangers. Thank you for the heads up, I would hate for the result of my first experience to be a trip to the dentist.

There are times when I want to use a snare, and take advantage of our seventy two hour check law. Places where the water isn't deep enough to completely hide 330 or drown a beaver either with a foot hold or a snare. Alive in a snare or long chained foot hold is fine for twenty four hours, but I have concerns about trying it on an extended check.

They work well for beaver. The key is to get a neck catch which can be easier said than done. Regarding the safety issue. Many people have used rams for years, and have never had trouble, and don’t intend to. Use learn to properly set them. Not that big a deal at all. There are good ways to set them, that are failsafe, and then there are stupid ways to set them. Use the smart way, and there is no danger whatsoever.

There is a video by Bruce Burtram that I plan to order also. I assume safe use practices are in it, also the index says there is a beaver chapter.
