He took this opening morning with one well placed shot at 80 yards.

He managed to get his first deer even though we had some competition.

After he got his deer then it was time to get back to work.

Awesome- it's going to take awhile to remove that smile from his face. What a proud moment!

Ha! It is even funnier than you think. I had been telling him all fall that when a buck comes out and won't stop to "holler" at them. I loud BLAT will often make them stop and give you a couple of seconds to get the shot. He was sitting in the stand and this buck WALKED out into the mowed road and his first reaction was to yell at it LOUD. Really loud and long. It didn't stick around but it stood right in front of the camera just before he hollered at it. 40 yards broadside............I sure wish he could have shot it.

Awesome job, Logan! Truly impressive what you two have accomplished in the outdoors.

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

No, rifle. We put together a TC Encore with a short stock, Limbsaver pad and reduced recoil ammo in a 7mm-08. He shoots it very well. I bought him a CUTE Ruger no.1 in 7X57 but it is just a little too much for a 10 year old. I hated to see it sit at home so I took it out a time or two. Cute little rifle!

I think he needs more practice so I will send him over to visit Rally Hess for about a month in February or March. He will be an expert after that!

I had a cousin make a drive to his new bride. Two bucks went right by her. When asked why she didn't shoot, she said they were WALKING too fast.
But that's the kind of things that make memories last forever! grin

I'm not sure who is enjoying this experience more - Logan or 160user. They both seem to have pretty big smiles in the pictures. smile

Way to go Rob!!!!

I think he likes Deer hunting better then beaver boarding though, from the size of that smile holding his buck!!
