A big problem is i cant see the screws real good being inset and not much room around them to know what to fabricate. All i see is a smooth top on the screws and maybe an eighth of an inch down the shaft it looks like its thicker or maybe its a seperate part that goes around it. The thicker part looks like it might have a groove in it. Hoping that sounds familiar to somebody

It does. That is the government magic genius going on in there. If it was on my bench right now we could get it taken care of in about ten minutes, but it is hard for me to explain. I will try to find a picture to put up

Try that. It will get you on some sign if it works.

True Lol!! I've got a brother that still cuts firewood with his 066. Mostly lodgepole around 6 to 20 inches. That is alot of weight to be slinging around.

Sorry about that. I was just looking at the link I sent. I can't believe there is a forum for forestry, but makes sense I guess. Don't give up on it. The limiters are your problem there. Once you deal with one, they all make sense. Be on the lookout for a bigger cube saw. Say 60 ccs or bigger. You have alot of work layed out for that particular saw. It will have to be running perfectly, with good chain.

Can't you adjust your gas mix rather then messing with the carb?

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

No, changing the oil mixture doesn’t affect the air mixture.

First advice is to get a pro-grade saw (Stihl or Husqvarva) that’s made to be adjusted and serviced, and people are used to working on. The problem with Walmart tools is they’re not really made to be worked on because no one does.

However, I found this YouTube video of a guy with a Remington 4620, which might be the same motor as yours. He spends the first 8 minutes cleaning it, then starts turning about 8:00. He shows his tool as well.

Thanks everybody for going to all the trouble. It takes a pac-man type driver. Works great and fully adjustable

There's currently about 12 different "special screw drivers" for adjusting carbs. You more than likely have the splined style. Fear not - for soon you will no longer need tools. With "Auto tune" "Intelecarb" and whatever else they will all be computerized. Stihl is releasing the new 500I soon - fuel injection.

For just those goofy screws try a piece of tubing, my cousin tunes a lot of small carbs with fuel line or such.

Yep. Has a pac man type screw. Takes a smooth nut driver type tool with one spline to fit in the groove in the screw. Runs like a champ now. Cant believe how mtd customer service just flat out lied.
