Like I was saying, I’m new to coon trapping and am trying to figure out what makes a good color coon? I caught this one this morning and to me I would consider it a good color. But I actually have no idea lol.

From picture its a good looking coon. Should grade an A or lowest a B it has a slight yellowish tinge at neck but will not be seen when put up. But can not see base of tail to tell if yellowing caries down to there. If they take into account the very slight yellowing in the tail rings possibly a B. I would call it a Select A B or at lowest a #1 A B

Look at the typical PA coon. On average, about the color of a rubber duckie. frown I would take the one you have all day long.

Yes. I had one that was almost entirely straw-colored. It had pink feet, but not pink eyes. Like a dummy, I sent it into NAFA and got almost nothing for it. I should have contacted a taxidermist instead.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.
