For getting a pelt tanned, do you send it fur side out or skin side out?

I’ve always sent it the way how they are usually put up. Fox, fur out for instance. You could always call the tannery and ask how they want you to send it.

It doesn't matter.

Fur in is fine for any pelt. No,point in turning coyote, fox, marten, fisher.

As Wissmiss said if your planning on sending your skins to the tannery, there is no reason to turn fox ,coyote etc. fur side out. Also it’s fine to fold the dried skins to make the shipping more manageable and cheaper!

As Miley said, it is ok to fold the pelts for shipping but do so gently, more of a roll than a fold. Try not to crease the leather to the point it leaves a mark. A tightly folded pelt, especially on otter or beaver might cause a blemish on the finished product.

If you are sending beaver, Michigan Trapper has a good plan. Roll them as tightly as possible and ship them in a tube. Much cheaper than shipping them flat, especially on larger size pelts.

Yep. Lay your beaver in a pile, roll them up like a burrito and put them in a sona tube from menards/lowes /homedepot.

If I have to I wrappe a string around them to hold them together to get them in to the tube.

Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!

If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell
