I tried shorts and hated them. CCI mini mags, hollow points, drops everything right now . Remaking sets almost instantly. Exit holes ?

With that barrel, try standard velocity LR hollow point. Or even high velocity hp. There should be no exit holes, or none that matter.

We ran subsonics, cci quiets, and a few others for several seasons. During the .22 crisis trying g to find regular rounds was a challenge but seemed like we could always find the low velocity stuff so we used those.
I prefer higher power rounds now after switching back. Exit holes just aren't a problem generally with .22s anyway unless you are hunting squirrels or rabbits.
Most furbearers have way tough hides in my opinion.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I tried low velocity and didn't like them at all! I've always used cci cb 22 shorts. Never have exit hole and this is coming out of heritage rough rider revolver. Same here

I use Remington subsonic and the CCi quiet .22 - they both work fine I have found if the angle is less than 90* the bullet is stopped . PM for more details

Personally I like shorts. They’re quieter than a long rifle and at 3-6-9 ft from the target, there’s plenty of knock down power even if you take a lung shot on a coyote. I’d rather take a head shot but at a nickel apiece, two shots isn’t going to break the bank.
Never too old to learn
