Maybe this has already been noted on T'man, but if you missed it:

Congress votes to remove wolves from the Endangered Species Act; 196 YES, 180 NO.
Hopefully the Senate will act on this also.

Thanks for the post heard nothing about that one good news and hope they can do it in the senate and I think it should pass there also. Maybe they can do the same with the grizzly bear down in the lower 48.

I suspect that we're about to hear an awful lot of rhetoric from the left about how Republicans want to wipe out all the wolves and the left wants to save them. What's wrong with a successful re-introduction and recovery? Why is that not to be celebrated? This is viewed by most Democrats as nothing more than an opportunity to bash R's and offers nothing but contempt for Federal and State agencies that worked hard for a species to meet full recovery guidelines. Criticism by the far left for any program that actually is succeeds means that they will never be satisfied, this includes your guns!

It's quite possible that the incoming, democrat controlled House of Representatives will attempt to relist the wolves. Democrats as a whole are the enemy of those of us who trap, hunt and fish.

I'm not necessarily wanting any animal to be a heavy target. But I do believe that owners of live stock should have the right to defend their herds. A rancher is still lawfully powerless to do so with wolves. A series of documented cases exist of wolves killing cows sheep or other wise and not even breAking the skin to eat. While protected they should have a hard line drawn.

You may think before you act. The question is did you listen to your own council?

Those who don't want them deisted are cutting their own throat and the animals what state would want to transplant wolves or bears when they after years can never get off the endangered species list it cost the states millions with no end in site also good luck getting hunters or trappers to back the program when they see their license dollars to run the program. Wyoming has spent over 60 million dollars managing the grizzly and you still can' hunt them. We finally got the wolves delisted and can hunt them and trap them though limited. I have read they want them reintroduced into Colorado yeah the no trapping state to control the elk in Rocky Mountain National park not much state support from the ranching or hunting community because they will boom in population and cant be reasonably controlled and they don't eat fruit loops.
