I have a little Savage 64 semi auto .22LR and I love it. As said above, they do have issues with the factory mags but at the price point, how does one complain? Once I found ammo that mine agreed with it functions flawlessly.
Just happy to be here.

I use nothing but Savage rifles, like someone said they shoot great right out of the box. I also like the accu triggers on them I can lighten them up myself. I have a 270, 17 hornet and 223 all shoot great even with reloads.
I don’t trap because I want to I trap because I have to

Savage 110 is a great accurate rifle.I own one in 30 06 that has accounted for lots of bears. Another rifle I really like is the CZ.
Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

I have a savage .17 hmr, brand new it wouldn't extract a spent shell. Contacted the factory and they sent me a replacement extractor, that didn't fix the issue. Contacted them again and they told me to ship it back and they would look. I sent it back and they fixed the issue no questions, I was displeased by their lack of quality (they should have seen this issue on the test fire) but their customer service was fantastic.
It's a trappers life for me

Trying to follow here is futile lol. Well, she is all worried about recoil. I've let her shoot my .308, 30-30, 30-06 and even a 7.62X39. All of them ended up with whining. I figure a .243 will do the job on bambi at 200 yards which probably will never happen in PA. It will be 100 or under. Also, if she want's to shoot ground hogs or yotes or something like that, a lighter bullet will work out well. For PA, for a girl, it seems like the perfect caliber. As far as looking, I've just been looking online for starters. She will have to go to a gun shop to see how it "fits" and I can get an eye on the craftsmanship. But I want some good ideas in mind first as far as model. I would really like her to get a Model 70, something that she could had down to her kids but at this point, she doesn't have that kind of loot.
I BELIEVE IN MY GOD, MY COUNTRY AND IN MYSELF.

This is just my opinion but if she dont have a lot of money to spend I will go with the Thompson center cumpus. If she had some money to spend I would buy a better quality salvage like a 110. The axis are ok guns but I think the other savages are way better. All very true and you can build off of the 110 models as good or better then the 700s or model 70s
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness

Cheap as heck and they shoot better than I can take advantage of. I think their style sucks, but I still own a couple. Good working gun +1

Don't over look reduced loads, choice bullets, less recoil, and the force stops on target. With carbide neck sizer dies, long case life = more practice and fun.
