You can actually skin with a hammer. A guy showed me how to do it years ago. A framing hammer with the rough head works best. It works much the same as in this video except you start using the hammer as soon as you start skinning the body. It is slower, but works great for wolverine and wolves. It leaves everything on the carcass, very little fleshing required later.
