Well my SEC team (Tennessee) didn't even make a bowl game for the 2nd year in a row. But as far as the playoffs go I think they should definitely go to an 8 team format. UCF should get chance, and a team like Ohio State has played better last few weeks so I think it would be a better system. I don't believe Notre Dame can hang with the other guys but I could be wrong

Yea Ga and ur team would be a good way to answer the question. How would OH-CRY-O do against a great defense. NOT mich that was rated playing against a conference that has not had a top 4 team in 2 years. Plus when they got there couldn't score a point. Having a high rated defense or offense can be deceiving in the way it is done. If you play jr high school talent then you should be able to hold them to low scoring. Or score a lot of points.

I think an 8 team matchup is a good idea. It would make it harder to claim there was a bias for or against the teams selected. Plus college football is a huge moneymaker and the additional games should lead to additional revenue.

People by nature, have a tribal mentality. Athletics have somewhat took the place of warfare and supporting a sports team has somewhat taken the place of supporting an army.

I have never been a big sports fan, but I do watch some college football. It's the only sport I watch besides the Olympics and the occasional rare fight.

I have seen probably half the Ohio State games this year. Ohio State is local to me. My brother went to medical school there, as did a lot of cousins and other relatives. When Ohio State does well, overall, people in my area are visibly happier than normal.

Oklahoma is my second favorite team. I have enjoyed watching them play for years.

I miss the days many moons ago when there were no playoffs nor championship games.
Every team played in their respective bowl games, then, we as fans, got to argue who the real national champion was. There was a belief in each of us about who the real champion was, and that belief never wavered in spite of the opinions of the "experts" who claimed some other team was the champion.
This system provided us empowerment. That empowerment provided us with emotional cover in case our team was "robbed!"
I don't care if there are 16 playoff games. Good teams capable of beating the highest ranked team in the nation are going to be left out.

8 team, polls, draw straws I could care less. Alabama would still dominate and two to three other SEC schools would be right there with them in the top ten every year. Year in and year out.

Cave Run, I’ve been there a few times. As far as Kentucky being in the “South”. That’s a tough one. There are parts of Indiana, Illinois and Ohio that extend further into the “South” than some parts of Kentucky do.

Just checked the temperature. It’s 37* here. In Lexington it’s 37* and in Middlesboro it’s 42*. Not to much difference from here to there. Kentucky is not that far south.

And half of Kentucky think they live in Cincinnati.

I live in Tennessee and I'm a Tenn fan have been all my life, but I also have a place in southern Ohio. And I can tell you that the people here in east Tenn are great people and the people in southern Ohio are great people. Everyone I've ran into since buying my place in Ohio have been more than accommodating. I like to watch SEC football but I hate Alabama (mainly because the beat US every year) but other than that I can't stand all the Tenn people I see now walking around wearing Alabama gear since they became so dominant. We call it jumping on the wagon. I also keep up with Ohio State since buying the place up there and I believe they can play with anyone when they are on their game. That's why I'd love to see a 8 team playoff

Don't forget the 1963 undefeated Bama team that was passed over for political reasons. Every honest sports analyst would agree that team was the best of the bunch nationally but due to segregation/civil rights/George Wallace the news wires passed them by.

The SEC has struggled under northern prejudice since the beginning. That's why the first Southern Conference national championship in 1926, won by Bama, was such a shocker nationally. It also laid the foundation for the mindset of the conference to become as dominant as they are.

I wish they would have matched up the remaining teams by their rankings, would have made for some great games. Ohio State vs Georgia, Michigan vs UCF, Washington vs Florida, LSU vs Penn State. Those would have been some great games and makes sense to me. The games the way they have them don't seem to intriguing to me.
