Heading to LOTW, Morris point lake view lodge Thursday and Friday, very excited, new moon couple of good solunar fishing days.

On the way home we are thinking of fishing winni for perch. Any suggestions of where to go, what depth to target this time of the year, lures and such. We have a 4 wheeler and will probably be accessing the lake through one of the resorts.

Fished a local east central MN lake yesterday for crappie. First wheeler on the lake, but there was plenty of ice 6". Caught a limit 9.5" to 11.5". My wife and ate some delicious fish tacos for dinner tonight. If you haven't had fish tacos it's something you have to try they are great.

I looked at Denny's resort report yesterday and it sounds like they have some rough ice on that side of the lake otherwise early fishing can be good there before the later bite off the mid lake humps. Sounds like fishing is decent on the west side right now, can't help you out there as I have never fished that side and access is more limited.

Born, do you have the navionics app? If you do, it shows where a lot of the public access points are. Not to mention, a lake contour map. If you don't have the app, you can get a 2 week free trial.

Yes I have the Navionics app. I used it recently and it now is a subscription, mine ends in February. When I bought the app it wasn't a subscription. I updated all my maps though and it will work off of the last update. I have been reading all I can find on Winni and a lot of info is negative. Might go to cutfoot for crappies.

You could get access off the West Winnie Campground and go up to Sugar Point area. Highbanks is always good too as others have pointed out.
