Our bear/ buck season is this week. The Governor closed all bear hunting on state land but they can still be shot on private land. Monday I was hunting on state land and saw this big male at about 40 yards. He is past the stump on the left, about 450 to 500 pounds. The old wood road was made prior to the Revolutionary War and goes to an old iron mine. It looks good in this picture but is mostly impassable even with a 4 wheeler.

give it a few years , they will be forming a special commission to deal with the black bear problem on state lands.

i gotta believe,wait till you see this years PA numbers for total bear take.just a matter of time for you guys.

It is high time that these politicans stop instituting fish and wildlife regulations they know nothing about. It should be a matter for trained biologists. Here in New York our biologists are scared stiff to say much because they are under the thumb of the Governor who thinks he is God.
