Took a doe tonight. It was about 80 yards all alone and I thought it was much bigger than it was. Just a yearling. The meat will be tasty, just not much of it. Kinda reminded me of gutting a squirrel. crazy

I'll tell you one thing, that Winchester 150gr silver tip is a nice bullet. Made a hole the size of an orange on the other side of her. I've been using it for years on deer and it always preforms well. It will punch mickey mouse ears at 100 yards out of my model 70.

Well at least it was a doe and not a button buck. I would have really been bummed. By far this is the smallest deer I've ever shot. frown

I'm in concurrence with the rest. Real good eating there. It will be doe killing time here soon. The yearlings will be the target. Big momma does are for breeding. Sarge

You just didn't factor in the 'ground shrink'. They usually lose 25% when they hit the ground. crazy

A yearling is a 1.5 year old deer that should be close to full size for a doe. I assume you are trying euphemize "fawn."

Fin I love them silver tips. I use them in 300 wsm, 7mm, 243, 280, 270, and 3006.
All the 30 Cal use 150gr. And 140 great. In the 7 and 280. Very nasty bullet
