Took a doe tonight. It was about 80 yards all alone and I thought it was much bigger than it was. Just a yearling. The meat will be tasty, just not much of it. Kinda reminded me of gutting a squirrel. Congratulations Bambi-Killer. walleyed also shot a succulent fawn last Thursday. All you need now is two slices of bread and you can make a sandwich. w

I am not too proud to admit that when I am meat hunting, and I run into a family group, I start with the smallest one first just in case that is the only one I have a chance at before the rest run off. Not because of the tender, succulent, delicious, easy to drag aspects, but because it breaks my heart to think about the little ones having to suffer out in the cruel world without their mother... Yah, that's the ticket. You bet...

A yearling is a 1.5 year old deer that should be close to full size for a doe. I assume you are trying euphemize "fawn." Pass-thru: You are correct but no one is listening. Jim
