I had my heart set on a Tacoma. I had been driving a GMC Sierra 1500. I drove several Tacoma's and just couldn't stand the terrible ride. I ended up with a Silverado double cab with a 6'6" box for about $4,000 less. I love the ride, the towing capacity and the gas mileage is about the same, better when towing. Did I mention how much more room there is, both inside and out?

That's a regular cab lawdog?
Access cab they call it everything else they had was a true 4 door even the local Ford dealer here is about all 4 doors. When I picked it up the salesman thought I might of been looking for a 4 door. LOL

6'3", 255 pounds, switched to a Ford Ranger to save on gas about 12 years ago, realized real quick the savings was very minimal. Sold it quickly and am now in a F-250 diesel and will never go back, just no room in those little trucks.

I am with Lawdog-for trapping big trucks flat out suck.I switched from a Tundra to a Tacoma years ago and have not looked back. The new Tacoma gets decent mileage and I can reach over the sides and get traps etc-you aren't doing that with the big trucks these days.If you are hauling big stuff-go ahead and I would agree with the bigger trucks for sure.I can haul my 20 ft Lund Predator with no issues at all.Unless you are hauling a lot-big trucks don't make sense to me at all. HINT HINT the tail gate lets down on most full size trucks lol

Walk into a dealer looking for a truck to use as a truck and they look at you strange, more "Sunday" trucks then work trucks on the lots here the majority are 4 door Cowboy Cadillac's!
