Who sells a great skinning machine? Looking at finding one that will do anything from raccoons to coyotes.

I bought 2 from ADC on here. One portable and one fixed. I liked them both real well.

Nick C has a pretty good looking skinner over on the Lair, especially if you have limited space. He said Jayme made his too.

Like some one said make your own. The biggest cost Is the winch.

Make It horizontal. Use a 2"x12"x10' plank. Attach the winch on one end and some sort of devise on the other end to hook up the hide. Lay the plank over some sort of table or find a couple of 55 gallon drums to support It.

Or if you already have a work bench In your shop use that Instead of the plank.

You could probably get It done for less then a $100.00.

I got one of the V type gambrels from adc and it gained me back 18 inches or so. I have the gate like in ed,s video but have yet to put it to use. Im getting it done with just over 8 feet of height.

I'm not a fan of horizontal. If something comes undone under pressure I'd like the gambrel and hook headed for the ceiling, not flying right at me. It is also much harder to spin the critter when skinning horizontal, gravity kind of works against ya. As far as wood goes, I sure wouldn't put my carpentry skills against ADC's welding skills.LOL I've never heard anyone unhappy with one of his rigs.

I wouldn't put the house any lower then ten feet above the fur clamps. Some of the bigger northwards coyote s begin to make you wonder!

You don't need a gambrel hook up. Hook up the hind legs with 1 or 2 cable slip nooses. And use one cable slip noose to hook up the fur end. I can grantee you won't have anything flying around.
If you block the winch up off the plank and do the same with fur hook up end you can easily turn the carcass enough to make your cuts around the head end.

I have built a few horizontal and vertical pullers and I'm a fan of the horizontal set up. Booth have their advantages.
Here's a link to my horizontal skinner.http://thebeav.us/horizontalskinner.html
I have done away with the clamps and went to all cable slip nooses.
