The worst part of the colonoscopy is the prep. These days the test is a piece of cake.Better to know for sure and if there is a problem, have it addressed. Over the years I've had numerous colonoscopies and I'm glad I did.Don't be foolish, schedule it today.

There are false positives from the colon guard test, if you are over 50, you should get a real test, there is nothing wrong with making sure you are ok, especially if you have that in your family history

My wife had a false positive from the colon guard test. She went in for the colonoscopy and she was clear. Look on the bright side, you're gonna get a few minutes of great sleep. I wish you the best.

I've had issues with my guts for years... My wife nagged me into going to the Dr. and they set me up for a colonoscopy.

Everyone is correct. The procedure is nothing,. The prep is the worst part. If I hadn't held on to something I believe I would've looked like a Saturn V rocket lifting off...

When the doc went over the results with me he said everything looked good except my colon looked a little irritated... Hey, no kidding Doc? Think maybe the gallon of TurboLax might have a part to play in that?

Stay positve. Keep a sense of humor. Get the test done.

Everything is easy. The prep wasnt bad. I got a much needed nap when they knocked me out for the procedure.
Woke up, felt rested, no discomfort. Easy peasy.

Will send prayers your way

Colon cancer can kill you just like every other cancer can. It's really not a big deal to go get scoped, just do it. I never went at 50 like they recommend didn't know there was family history either. So at 56 when I had some issue I went to the Doc and he sent me to get scoped. Ended up I had a cancer about size of a nickle low in my colon. Not a really nasty one but to big for the tool on the scope that picks the little ones off with. My treatment turned into a long dragged out deal for me with 4 surgeries total, one a major deal. Two different times I 'm told they had all my guts out laying on my chest. Chemo with radiation, surgery and then more chemo. So for me getting scoped is far from the worst thing they can do to you.
Obviously my cancer didn't kill me, but it for certain changed my life. I learned that every person it's different and everyone while they may get treated the same reacts different. I don't consider myself lucky, lucky is winning the lottery. I'am very fortunate though that things turned out they way they did for me. End of this November I'm considered cancer free 4 years now. Come February 14th 2019 it will be 6 years since they found my cancer.
So anyway I always tell people just do it getting scoped the easy part.
I wish you the best and hope it works out..they do get false positives and I wish you one.

Mac

Those quicky test's have a lot of false positives, do the full on test and they can remove any polyps as they are located. Not all polyps are cancerous.

Don't put it off. I did and ended up with stage 3 and 4 colon cancer. After having 30 inches off my colon removed and 6 months of chemo I am still here. 9 years later. I was getting pressure from Dr. to have the scope for 7 years before I developed signs. DON'T PUT IT OFF! Your spending your time on the things that aren't important. Good Luck

Just had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done Tuesday. It’s actually some of the best sleep I get, lol. The prep was a little tougher than the last time I had one though. Got good results on the endoscopy...and nothing major on the colonoscopy. Still waiting for the results of some polyps removed, but the Doc didn’t seem too concerned.
I did realize why I don’t drink...apparently I sent a bunch of text after the procedure when I woke up and all I remember is talking to the nurse before the procedure and waking up the next morning. The wife said I acted completely normal, but I don’t remember a thing!! The Doc actually told her I wouldn’t remember anything and to ask me whatever she wanted to know, lol. Apparently I gave all the right answers...She’s still here and I’m still alive!

I've had 2 and don't remember a thing from either one, although I think I came to a little bit on the first one and they gave me more Versed and out again. Most guys are a bit gun shy having the back door played with but these people see more ***holes in a day than most of us see in a lifetime. Your butt means nothing to them. My wife had one 2 weeks ago and with a little Milk of Amnesia (Michael J,'s favorite) and 25 minutes she was back in the room and remembered nothing. Get it done!!!

My experience was a lot different than a lot of yalls. It was nothing really but I remember the whole thing. Wasn't out for any of it. Even watched the little jaws bite off the polyps on the screen.

I hope that your more complete test finds a false positive. This getting old is not good for ones health. Went to see my cardiologist Friday. I had an aortic heart value replacement in 2013. (defective from birth and not found until age 62)! Have been on one BP medication since 2001 with good response. Was on the yearly visit plan. My BP had trended a bit higher the last checks and was higher again yesterday so now another med and 6 months visit and another Ultra sound. Feel okay but I guess looking at food and especially several I like will need to what I do instead of eating it. As the body changes ones signs change as well.
I am getting tons of exercise trapping through the ice but not a sustained aerobic workout, so I get hungry. I guess one can't out run their fork!!!
