This is my first year with a cat tag. I see people having success with boxes with a 160 or 220’s. Don’t cats try to reach in with their paws and set the trap off?

A pan on the trigger is what some use.

I bend my trigger in a 90 degree not the typical V. Slide it to the side so there is a big opening. They usually bump it with a shoulder and get suit cased.
Best thing I ever learned about cubbies for cats. I sat through a demo by Maddog47 years ago and he taught me to put a exposed #3 on a drag in front of the cubby.
If possible, make it a double sided cubby so they can see through it
