I have one of everything that I have caught, usually my first. Missing a few, and waiting for something cool for the coon and possum. Missing a red fox, because my first had mange, and a grey fox, otter. Other than that, I sell everything unless its something unusual. Last year, I caught a blond yote that was almost yellow. I was going to keep it, but it had a bad snare mark by the hips.

I get most if it tanned and then roll around in it naked
Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!
If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

I tan most and sell them. Keep a few if something special
Sell some raw to groeny

So anyway...
Yes, I keep small beaver for gifts, and have a couple real nice coyote/wolves (my first one)
Also have a couple fisher tanned here. I will keep the nicest one. Also, got a skunk this year. Now, most people that's not a big deal, but it's literally the first one I have ever heard of within 30 miles, let alone on my line seven miles out on an island. So tanning that one to prove I actually got one haha

The first coyote I ever caught I had a full mount done. The second one I caught I had it tanned and is hanging on my wall. The biggest coyote I ever caught, 42 lbs I also had tanned and is hanging on my wall. One time I caught a little female and had a shoulder mount done. I caught a pretty nice red fox and had it tanned, it’s on my wall too. Right now I’m waiting on a full mount gray fox, a pretty big male, I called in hunting at night.

I just started and plan on keeping the 4 bobcats I've caught so far, with all the time I spent catching them you'd have to offer me a small fortune to part with them.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

We only keep the unusual stuff anymore for ourselves..
. Last year it was a huge Super blanket beaver...and a black coyote.
Other than that we ship it to NAFA or we sell diirect to a few buyers in specialized markets.
