That's funny cuz that is exactly what the so called ADC trappers do in most of the areas I have been!!

This thread made about 15 beaver jobs (at LEAST) I’ve had make sense.

Hey Beav, Just thought I'am talking about the aphis people in the Nicolet National Forest. and the way they do marketing the beaver catch. There is also the Chequamegon National Forest people and they are separate from the one's I get bid letters from and they may do it differently so you might not be wrong. Since I don't get bid letters from them.

So what the heck is the Federal Government doing involved in contract beaver trapping? This is not a species they have any management authority over. Not and endangered or threatened species, not a migratory species. They have absolutely no business competing with private contractors for beaver management work.

Blame FDR or whoever whenever USDA animal damage control got started. If there's a need to remove problem beavs during the fur off-season in National Forests (USDA controlled through the US Forest Service) either they are do it through contracting it out or do it with their own people if they have people who can do it. Go find out how long APHIS has been around and then write your Senators and House of Rep people to get it changed, The feds probably got scared off from what the Beav was charging so decided to do it with their own peeps.

Any update on this...? Curious if they got any bids and how much all of those beavs went for if they sold them...

Haven't heard what has happened as to selling of those G man beaver.

Might have to look into the legality of selling WI beaver by APHIS. The state pays them to trap them with tax payer funds.

I know when we go to fur school we can't take any glands skulls or any part of those animals home. I was told they belong to the state and can't be sold. So they just get put into the dumpster.
