I'll buy him a nice hunting knife, and make a couple mods. A little engraving on the blade, personalized scales, and hand stich the sheath. That and the C-Note ought to be appropriate.

while the 100 dollars could be handy for him, get him a custom knife. i got my landowner a custom made turkey call one year as a thank you , that meant a lot to to him.
