If these turn a weapon one can legally own into one which is illegal, I see it as common sense-something that is very rare coming from a politician.

I am no longer an NRA member. I parted company with the group, along with GHWBush, when they came out with the "jack booted thugs" discription of ATF.

I agree. But, there are some who actually believe if you desire to own a working, belt-fed, M60 machine gun you should be able to. Common sense indicates just a matter of time when one would get in the wrong hands and massacre a hundred innocents. Some of these are the same ones who think waterboarding a terrorist is inhuman and wrong.

I agree that that is the end goal for the extremists on one side-total ban on all firearms.
The extremists on the other side believe there should be absolutely NO limits on the weapons that are legally available to all Americans.
I don't agree with either of those extreme positions.

If you follow that logic, let's just lock everyone up in cells as pretty much any object can be used by the wrong person to kill someone else
