A vote for the GOP in 2016 was a vote for a man who supports an assault weapons ban, a bump stock ban, a ballooning national deficit, and more war. Finster, do you approve of any of those things?

Yea I saw that. Its unreal. Our own government wont approve funding to secure our border yet think nothing of giving away billions of our tax dollars to other countries. This is despite the fact that just last week HS said they caught 73 terrorists crossing the southern border....

What is going on is our Govt is broken, thats it nothing else really to say. DJT had two chances to secure wall funding and he's blown both opportunities, he wont get a third. Im not so sure he ever really intended to build the wall to be honest. The US govt is run by globalists elites, it really is that simple. The Rs had both houses and still got nothing of consequence done. Even the latest supreme court picks sided with the left on the last two cases, so I wouldnt hold my breath thinking they are going to overturn anything, they are bought and paid for too.

How do they plan to enforce that?

I haven't read the text, but all the reports say they are going under the automatic law. (Reports that i've read, including the one at the head of this thread.)

You should tell that to the Republican's. They hand it out as much as the Dem's do just to a smaller % of the population but a much greater amount. Socialism is socialism no matter who you give it to.

Let's go through this point by point, hippie.

1: The libertarian party and the constitution party, just to name a couple, would do a better job guarding your gun rights than the GOP.

2. I never said he banned assault weapons, just that he supports a ban. You've got to learn to read for comprehension. In his book "The America We Deserve", circa 2001, he stated he supported the assault weapons ban that was in place at the time. So unless you can come up with a newer quote to refute that, I guess it's all we have to go off of.

3. I wonder how you would feel if it had been Obama or perhaps Clinton who banned bumpstocks instead of Trump? You might be a little more riled up I'm guessing.

4. Bump stocks are not going in with automatics. Per the 1986 gun control act, civilians can't own any machine gun manufactured after 1986. All bumpstocks were manufactured after 1986, so they cannot be owned by any civilian, period. It's a complete ban. It's not like automatics where you can buy one with the proper tax stamp and background check, there is no way for anyone to own a bump stock. It's written right in the rule from the DOJ/ATF. You're flat out wrong on that one.

5. On my previous thread about this I stated that I'd publicly apologize and proclaim Trump to be a defender of the 2nd amendment if the bumpstock ban didn't come to fruition. I guess for now I don't owe that apology, but I'll still do it if this eventually gets knocked down by the courts.

Perhaps some patriot will keep his legally purchased bumpstock, be arrested and challenge the National Firearms Act similarly to U.S. vs. Miller case where the defendant and his lawyer didn't show up to court. Hopefully this time the bumostocker shows up and the whole NFA is deemed Unconstitutional.
