Can anyone give me suggestions for a good beaver lure/bait that works good in Colorado. I have never trapped beaver before but i have some property along a river and they are chewing trees that are falling on my fences. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Easy answer, get some Backbreaker from Paul Dobbins. Good stuff anytime of the year.

Also, I think there are 3-6 beaver in the area. How much bait/lure do I need to buy? Is a 1 oz jar enough? Thanks again.

This time of year, if you have open water, a food lure may also be a good choice.
You can, as a member of this site, private message a beaver expert, you know....

Might as well get the 4 ounce...you’ll be dealing with them...over the years. And if you never trapped beaver....you could have more than you think. Another good change up lure is Bob Wilsons Green Beaver Lure....good luck !

The first time I ever used Dobbins Backbreaker it resulted in my first double on beaver... coincidence? Maybe... but I'm sticking to it.
