I'd say she earned. Take your lady and y'all have a great time. It's only a few days, them critters will be there when you get back. You still got your Man-card.

I agree you never really ever had a valid man card when you decided to get married during trapping season.

Unless there was a gun involved that is a definite no no. smile

The only reason I could or would pull a full day working trapline would be to have a death in the real immediate family. I had my father in law pass years ago while running a long line. I was local thankfully and not out of state when this happened.

I couldn't pull it since I had too much time and expense involved to do that. I made it work but it was grueling for a few days. The wife and I worked things out since she has been with me long enough to know what is involved with running my lines. It isn't like taking a couple days off work. You have a commitment to your trapline like you do in a marriage. If you don't feel that way you need to pick another hobby.

You fellas running a few traps for a couple of hours a day can do this but it isn't possible with a daily investment in your work and livelihood.

I think you can probably come up with things to do on a honeymoon trip that will add to your man card value way more than trapping ever will wink

My honeymoon was a week long stay in Forest City, ME smallmouth fishing on Spednic Lake... I could handle that for a few more days.

My first honeymoon was spent in Canada on a remote lake fishing pike and walleye in July. You have the right idea Coop. You learned well.

yesterday for my birthday I booked a table for the missus and myself. I knew it was going to end in tears as she is crap at pool.
Yea hand in your man card and try again next season.

Not a violation but a bump to the next level up.

It is the right thing to do. As much as I love trapping there are other things more important.

My wife set our wedding date on the same weekend that our state rondy always falls. She figured that would be easy for me to remember our anniversary. It kinda worked! Had a bunch of trappers came over to my wedding party that evening. This next Oct it will be twenty years already.

Happy anniversary Hobbie, your doingit right!

Thanks everybody.

Yesterday after I pulled I manage to get things caught up in the fur shed as well as boiling and waxing everything pulled and changing my bag over to my mid season lures. Ready to get after it again on the 26th.

It appears the Christmas Spirit was out and about last night. We had dinner at Ruth's Chris and somebody picked up the check.

I failed to disable 4 snares I had behind my house so I sent out the message below to my student.
