Why is it so much more difficult to secure a desolate barren border compared to the dense north?

Trumps estimate for the wall was 29 Billion not 5 Billion. Don't see why this administration is not making it illegal to hire the ones coming in and putting them in jail. My opinion is to many people want the cheap labor and not wanting to pay workmans comp, overtime benefits and below minimum wage.

Really is amazing the thinking of people. I have read this entire thread. We secure everything we owne by locking our doors to our house and cars. We have security systems and we arm ourselves to protect ourselves. But when it comes time to secure our borders we are racists and nuts. I want everyone who is against the security of the border, those that want to let everyone in illegally to go down to the border and sponsor a group. Feed them, cloth them, help them in every way you can. Let me know how it is going for you after one yr. Over 13 million has been raised and growing for the wall. Hard working people are sick of the abuse of our generosity from the illegals that suck off our system. The illegals hide in our cities, clog up emergency rooms, demand free housing, demand rights.
They demand free education and have no intention of becoming a citizen. I live this and see this everyday. It's not a lie nor an exaggeration. It is the truth. But I am labeled racist, a deplorable but that's ok. Sticks and stones will break my bones. But names will never hurt me. We the people will build the wall.

Here's how to get Mexico to pay for the wall...

Start a company that builds ladders and outsource the factory to Mexico. Sell the ladders right off the dock and tell them that the ladders are for when the gringos build the wall they can use the ladders to get over it...

Then when you make enough profit, use that money to build the wall 6 feet higher than the ladders.

Well said Stinkypete. Working in the construction industry in the south, I see it everyday. Has been better since January of 2017 though.

The US spends 1.3 trillion dollars on welfare a year. 51% of immigrants in the US get welfare. Lets throw out the nonproductive, leach immigrants, keep the good immigrants, build a wall, enhance other forms of border security, pay off the debt and only let productive immigrants in from now on. Lets prevent Americans on welfare from having children, while on welfare. In two generations, if we stop paying the wrong people to breed more people like them, things will be much better.
