Of my 130 acres only about 20 is old hay field. I have about 3 mls of old logging road and cleared ATV trail thru it but it is mostly younger brushy understory to more open mature woodlands. What would be some set choices for this? Logs of windfall logs and leaf litter. See most coyote tracks running the trails but we run them too much to set snares ON them. Also have cats and grays around.
I've learned enough thru the years to now know that I don't know enough. KNOWLEDGE IS FREEDOM.

Set out a few dead piles off the trail and set snares. A few dirt holes and sent posts to the side or just off the trail would be a good bet.
Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

Are they more cautious of dirt hole type sets in that they are in area of limited visibility?

Set in between the tire tracks on the roads and just drive over them every day. They are used to you driving the roads all the time anyhow. X2

Are they more cautious of dirt hole type sets in that they are in area of limited visibility? In my experiance, Yes. I know they run woods trails here but have much better success with them working sets out in the open. I've pretty much given up on setting trails in heavy woods.
