Thanks everyone. Kylie is nine. She's into hanging out with me on the trapline and in the fur shed right now, has been for the last three or four years. I figure, if I'm lucky, I might get another five or six years before "other" interests take over. Her aunt, my youngest daughter, was my full-time partner until she was twenty. I've got a two-year-old grandson scheduled to be my next trapping partner.
Nice catch and nice pictures .Looks like it was a very good morning . Minus the mud .But mud is the only consistent thing we all have had this fall here in PA .Catching doubles never gets old no matter what the price of fur is right now
Congrats . Are you tired of the rain yet LOL. We just got over 2 inches Sat and that puts us up 7.65 inches over the highest recorded year. Getting another soaking this coming week......
November was a quagmire, most areas of the state have already set records for the wettest year ever. Here in my County we are a couple tenths away from beating the record set back in 1880-something. They say we will probably do it this Friday when we get another half-inch and temps approaching sixty.
That's the main reason I waited until mid-December to put my line out. I need hard, frozen ground to access a lot of my line. I can't get in without doing damage when the ground is saturated and thawed. It hasn't worked out...
The line's been out since 12-12 (two weeks) but we've only done seven checks. I have to keep snapping them off ahead of soaking rains and warm temps. Looks like I'll be doing it again Friday morning.
