Your wife found out the real reason behind your fancy lunch you packed her. It's ok you've already lost the mancard, Might as well go for the lifetime ban and admit she made you scrub the floor with your toothbrush and that's why it hurts..

Too many good replys's to choose from!

I'd take 400mg. Of ibuprofen half hour before, if you run your line today.

Look on the bright side. You don't have any more knees and shoulders to go bad.

That stinks. My knee gets like that drs have no idea what's wrong with it. Ice, heat and use a brace. I have a small brace that goes on the bottom of the knee cap and it helps tremendously.

Your knee doesn't hurt. It is the muscles around it. Give them a good massage and put them to work.

Tweaked my bad knee last week (80% of cartilage removed before they knew how to repair tears and ACL reconstruction). Did not make a misstep, fall or or twist it. Just had a strange painful twinge that was not normal. It swelled and was very tender with certain movements. I iced it and took ibuprofen as advised by my son-in-law who is an athletic trainer. Then I followed up at the first available appt with ortho.

They did the standard x-ray and compared them to 5 years ago. I am almost bone to bone on the inside of the joint, a significant change from 5 years before. The good news was that the joint was tight so the ligaments and tendons were good. That was good for my peace of mind, knowing the joint did not have stability issues.

After a lengthy discussion of options, I got a cortisone injection in the knee. Swelling is gone and I am back to normal activity including wading in the beaver swamps. Another option is a custom brace to put pressure on the outside of the knee to open up the gap between the bone on the inside. I will try that along with periodic lubrication shots or cortisone shots as long as I can but I will eventually need knee replacement unless they can figure out how to regrow cartilage.

The price I have to pay for old injuries and arthritis as I have become an old fart!

Right knee and leg have been swollen and painful for 5 weeks.Swelling did not go down.Had xrays and mri--torn meniscus.
Waiting for ortho to call so time for surgery can be nailed down.Have no idea what happened.Doc got me in a steel sided brace, but ibuprofen doesn't help.
With the New year coming,my guess is a couple more weeks of fun.Hope surgery is arthroscopic.
The Golden years LOL.
