We got around 15 inches here and winds 30-40. I doubt the critters moved but with the -20 temps coming they will. Time to dig things out and get them operational again. Did you get up and running again? I got the snares dug out but not all the cat sets. I spent 4 hours in the plow truck!
I have nothing clever to put here.

Nice job Rick. Another one bites the dust.

28 below zero here this morning. That should make the critters hungry.

No fur today, saw 1 fox track and set up a roadkill deer 1 snare and 2 trail sets with footholds. I'm sure this is a dumb question but do you leave the roadkill in the ditch , or are you moving the deer ? If your moving the deer does that require any permission?

I never have. Typically they are pretty well frozen to the ground.

Do you wire the kill to a tree so they can’t drag it off? Depending on the size of the bait, definitely. Even wired, I've had pulled away and dragged off. I had a twofer last night. Caught two of my neighbors dog at a cat set. I am getting some sick tired of having my traps fouled by dogs running at large. He has two dogs and I've caught them both, twice. You think they'd learn.

Always enjoyed skinning warm coyotes, ever since my neck and elbow surgery I have a good friend skin my coyotes, beaver and otters which I don't trap many of.I skin the easier fur like fox, cats, mink, marten and muskrats.4 years ago I skinned a few coyotes and it bothered my elbow way too much.I never enjoyed skinning coyotes that had been frozen. That might make some sense why mine hurts in the fall trapping worse then summer fishing!
